ONE More Quote from Rep. Ilhan Omar

"Squad" member and U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar has opened her mouth again, to the benefit of the Republican Party.  The Democrat from Minnesota compared the threat of Islamic terrorists with white Americans and claimed white American men were more dangerous to the United States than terrorists who have a history of beheading kidnap victims.

"I would say our country should be more fearful of white men across our country because they are actually causing most of the deaths within this country.... And so if fear was the driving force of policies to keep America safe -- Americans safe inside of this country -- we should be profiling, monitoring, and creating policies to fight the radicalization of white men."

The families who lost loved ones in 9/11 or the Marine barracks bombing haven't responded to Omar's statement as yet.

The LA Times is reporting that Joe Biden's ties to the Hollywood establishment aren't all about the environment, same sex marriage, or wage equality.  They're about dollars.  Presidential candidate Joe Biden has a long-time relationship as trade ambassador for the movie industry, and a long-time connection as a mouthpiece for Jeffrey Katzenberg (known for DreamWorks Animation) and others when negotiating deals to get American movies seen in China. ONE New Poll with One OLD Result

According to The Hill, an new Quinnipiac University poll is showing that the party that doesn't like white men culture (Democrats) has three white men in the lead for its presidential nomination.  Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Beto O'Rourke are now firmly settled into the win, place and show positions as Democrats get out of the gate. Not a single one of them black or female, and the only one that's arguably Latino is in third by a pretty good margin. And another white male, Pete Buttigieg, is in the top 6. 
The imminent entry of Biden - it hasn't "officially" happened yet - has taken some of the wind out of the sails of the female candidates.  Their results placed them in single digits, now. We'll have to see how much stamina the two really old guys have, but they're almost certain to be strong fundraisers for a while, so they should be able to remain in the race well into primary season. Finances alone may be what gets Biden or Sanders the nomination. If they can roll up a big enough bankroll early it could put a squeeze on candidates like Harris, Warren, and Klobuchar.

ONE or More Reasons Not to Trust Hollywood

Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman - both of them Hollywood actresses - have become the latest fallen stars in the murky scandal plagued TV, Movie, and Music entertainment business.  Loughlin and her husband paid half a million dollars in a bribery scheme related to college admissions for the privileged and wealthy. Prosecutors have recordings of Loughlin agreeing to use what amounts to fake evidence in order to help her daughter obtain entry into USC. The evidence instead got her access to an indictment.

Felicity Huffman was also indicted in the same broad scandal.  The Desperate Housewives actress, married to actor William H. Macy, was a little luckier, though.  She didn't spend nearly that much to buy her child "unlimited time" on the SAT.  Her bank account only suffered $15,000 worth.

Both will now face criminal charges in a bribery, racketeering and wire fraud scandal.

ONE Scared Speaker and ONE Smoke and Mirrors Resolution

A day later than expected, the House of Representatives passed an altered version of a resolution condemning the bigoted words of an unnamed Democrat on Thursday.  According to news organizations the targeted words came from Rep. Ilhan Omar (Dem-MN) for anti-Semitic slurs she made in recent weeks.  We don't know for sure that she was the target, because Nancy Pelosi agreed to make the resolution a general anti-hate resolution that neither quotes nor specifically refers to here comments and does not come within 39-and-a-half feet of mentioning the name of the offender or the offense or the date, time or location.
Reports say that Pelosi was cowed in a private meeting by a group of freshmen Democrats that wielded their power over the Speaker like a leather strap before a wayward stepchild. The freshmen included Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  The resolution instead of targeting an actual bigot referred to all sorts of different types of bigots and made sure that everybody will know that Pelosi and party doesn't like them (vague and plural) and will let smart people know that Pelosi and party don't want to concentrate or linger on a specific event perpetrated by a specific Democrat. Better to condemn a cast of thousands that might be a part of any group or party than to focus on the one member of one party who has most recently made bigoted comments on front pages and in TV videotapes. At least when that party starts with a capital D.

ONE Personal Reason I Didn't Vote for Trump

I didn't vote for Donald Trump in the Republican primary or in the general election.  Although, as a long-time Republican, I certainly approved of some things Trump planned to do and some that many people expected he would do, I couldn't pull the lever or punch the button for Trump. Trump has always seemed to me to be immoral, loud-mouthed, exceedingly egotistical, brash, uncontrollable, etc.  I just couldn't vote for him because even if I could have overlooked one or two of these several liabilities I was afraid that Trump would eventually self-destruct and that he'd do so with too much collateral damage to - not only - the Republican Party, but also to the broader conservative movement.

Today's news brings word that his former lawyer will allege that Trump committed crimes while in office and that those crimes are related to the dumb payment of hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels. Can anyone say that the damage done by these allegations were worth getting Stormy Daniels to "stay quiet"?  Trump just has a sleaze factor that's through the roof.

I know good Christian people that voted for Trump and will probably vote for him again. I'm sorry, but I just can't do that.  And I won't vote for any known Democratic candidate either.  I won't sell my principles out to support candidates who don't share at least a fair part of my moral and social beliefs regardless of whether they offend my principles by being sleazy right wingers or by being socialist left wingers. Neither deserve my support, my vote, or my cooperation.

If neither party will supply a candidate I can support in good conscience, I will oppose them all in good conscience.

ONE Democrat Star Gets Slammed by Congresswoman from Her Own Party and State

AOC Slammed for Anti-Jobs Position

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is once again in the news (surprise, surprise).  AOC, as she is called, played a significant role in helping run off Amazon in recent weeks.  The huge corporation had awarded New York, NY the prized "2nd HQ" of the company promising many jobs, large amounts of tax revenue, and additional publicity.  AOC and some others began a campaign to call attention to various benefits the city and state promised Amazon if they located at the Big Apple.  AOC argued that benefits given to Amazon constituted $3 Billion of corporate welfare and money that the city and state could use to better education or mass transit in the city.

Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio and Democrat Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney were incredulous over AOC and other critics failure to understand how tax credits work. Maloney pointed out that the $3 Billion in tax credits didn't represent that amount of money already in hand that government could just not spend on Amazon.  It was a tax credit against additional revenue that would be raised by creating jobs and doing business. In other words it was money that won't materialize at all for New York, now, because AOC and her allies scared off Amazon.

Maloney couldn't believe a member of Congress chased away a company offering jobs in her own city by protesting investment.  "It used to be we would protest wars. Now we are protesting jobs?"

ONE Tantrum Throwing Presidential Candidate

Minnesota Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar made a grand entry into the presidential race this week. No Democrat worth their salt announces for president without making sure they're surrounded by controversy.  Bernie has his wife's work related scandal.  Kamala Harris has her "not black enough" criminal prosecutor controversy. Elizabeth Warren has her "apology to the tribe" controversy. And now Klobuchar has her tantrum throwing boss controversy.

It seems that ever since Sen. Klobuchar grabbed her hat to toss into the ring, alleged staff members and former staff members are reporting the senator has a long history of abusing people who work for her.  The alleged abuse goes from verbal abuse and humiliation all the way to throwing binders and hitting female office workers.

Even fiercely loyal Democrat Bloggers are piling on. The left wing bloggers at electoral-vote.com seem satisfied the stories are largely true.  The pull no punches when saying the described behavior is not acceptable from any boss, and recount a story of Klobuchar being advised by former Minority Leader Harry Reid to make some "major changes" to her management style. And they say her behavior isn't exactly a secret in her home state.

It's going to be fun watching a crowded Democrat field aim their opposition research at each other for the next few months.

ONE Improving Poll; And ONE Idiotic Cartoonist

The latest Rasmussen presidential approval poll is looking slightly better for Donald Trump.  The latest poll shows a post State of the Union bump for Trump with 52% of "likely voters" approving of his job performance and 47% disapproving.  The poll also claims 39% "strongly approve" and 39% "strongly disapprove."  That gives him a flat 0% difference between those two categories after being in negative territory for a while.

Democrats will try to boost the negatives again soon by purposely forcing another shut-down and then emailing and phoning every liberal journalist twice a day to whine about it.  Here's the report from the Rasmussen website.

Also in today's news, we learned that some cartoonists enjoy planting obscenity laced panels in their strips on the comics page.  One newspaper has already decided to drop the comic "Non-Sequitur" from its lineup after discovering a "Go F Yourself to Donald Trump" in one panel of the strip. The panel (which did not stop spelling the word with the F) was intended as an "Easter Egg" by the cartoonist, who I hope has no children and is never in charge of Easter Egg Hunts.

ONE Noisy Anti-Semitic Democrat

The Democratic Party's outspoken representative, Ilhan Omar has continued her anti-Israel rhetoric in the lead-up to 2020.  The hate spewing liberal Democrat flatly accused AIPAC (American Israel Political Action Committee) of corruption and insinuated that they were paying congressional representatives to support Israel. The context of her statement suggested bribery and not normal legal electioneering.

Some Democrats must have realized these statements are politically radioactive for their own party, as a couple of New York Democrats and citizen of the world Chelsea Clinton immediately countered the Somali-American congresswoman they had celebrated the election of only 3 months ago.

ONE Virginia Republican Refuses to Let Democrats Dominate Scandal Sheets

Virginia is for Racists

Virginia Republicans can't resist the chance to interfere in the public embarrassment festival.  After three prominent Democrats made headlines with voluntary foot shooting, the Republican state Senate Majority Leader found himself reported as the managing editor of a racist yearbook from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI).  Senator Tommy Norment doesn't want to talk about anything but the budget, but I'm thinking he won't get his wishes there. 

It's too bad there are so many racists out there that don't publish their dirty laundry. Luckily, the ones in government seem to leave paper trails behind. Too bad the two Virginia parties didn't catch on before these guys got into top jobs in state government. It's time for BOTH parties to have a house cleaning.

ONE More Virginia Democrat Gets in Trouble

The Virginia Democratic Party is feeling a little sick these days.  The governor and lieutenant governor had already embarrassed themselves, the state, and their party when one more party and state elected official decided to upstage the two and announce his own scandal.  Attorney General Mark Herring has now admitted two of the state's top Democrats (the governor and himself) had "blackface" appearances in their extra-curricular past.

ONE Candidate Gets Targeted with Democrats Dirty Tricks Campaign

Howard Schultz - welcome to the world of presidential politics!

Less than 24 hours after former CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz, announced he was considering an independent run for president, an organized dirty-tricks-style campaign against him blossomed in NYC (in the home state of Democratic candidate Kirsten Gillibrand and Democrat darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez).

Democrats began heckling Schultz almost immediately in an attempt to intimidate him and derail his candidacy before it even becomes official.  The event was held at a Barnes and Noble book store.  Schultz is releasing a book about reinventing America from the ground up to coincide with his coming campaign.

ONE Candidate to Rule Them All

Schultz Plans Run for the White House

Howard Schultz, the former CEO of Starbucks, is creating early fireworks in the 2020 presidential race.  The 65 year old Schultz lit everybody's fuse this weekend when he quietly told 60 Minutes TV program that he was considering a run for the presidency. The move - which most voters were oblivious to - was already rumored among political insiders and candidates of both parties began verbally pooping on Schultz immediately suggesting he's not smart enough (Trump Tweet) or suggesting that all Democrat leaning unions, interest groups, etc would use their email accounts to start a Starbucks boycott to hurt Schultz who still owns stock in the company (Former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg and others). Some are even suggesting that states with Democrat majorities in the state legislatures and governor's offices use the ballot access laws to try to prevent Schultz from getting on the ballot in a few big states. Why Democrats fear Schultz: Democrats fear that Schultz will run as an independent, skip the party nomination wars, and get enough votes away from the Democratic candidate to help Trump win the electoral college votes in just enough states for victory.  Third party candidates often pull more voters away from one party than the other, and Schultz is a moderate Democrat with traditional centrist values.  Trump voters won't vote for him, but a sizable number of Democrats might.

Why Trump fears Schultz:  Maybe he does fear Schultz a little bit. Schultz has big company chief executive experience with a popular brand.  He could look like a sane and centrist choice somewhere between the left of the Democratic party favorites and the hard right of the current Republican administration. He might give Trump a run for his money. But maybe Trump really isn't worried about him. Trump knows his own supporters are mostly hard-core.  And he knows they won't abandon him for any Democrat - moderate or not.  So he can play with Schultz all he wants and know that Schultz hurts the Democrats far worse.

Either way, Schultz is creating exactly what he needs - reactions that get him in the news.

ONE Crazy State ... and It's NOT California

New York Enacts New Radical Abortion Law

The state of New York has gone crazier than California ever thought about going. The New York legislature and its legacy governor, the Son of, um Cuomo, recently passed and signed a bill guaranteeing the right to an abortion during the third trimester and even up to birth.  The bill purports to guarantee that even the reversal of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court one day won't prevent "legal abortion" in New York.  For some reason, the bill even features a provision that the procedure can be done by non-medical professionals - presumably to guarantee a woman can get an abortion even if she has to get it from a plumber.

It's ironic that pro-abortion activists always claim that making abortion illegal will only mean that women will get "back alley" abortions.  The new bill protects abortions done without a medical degree or license on the premises.
